A lot has happened since I last updated... I was out of work for nearly six months, & lost my Lincoln Park (Michigan) apartment, which I'd lived at for 5 years. After 5 years of independence, I had to start over - but I'm not nearly as upset about it as I thought I'd be. I got rid of about 2/3 of my total belongings, including most of my furniture. Prayers for detachment in action. My dad helped me financially, & right now I'm living in the spare bedroom of two dear friends in Ferndale, MI. Two days after moving, I got a job - it's only a 2-5 week temp job, but hey, it's a paycheck I wouldn't otherwise have!
I'm glad I took such detailed pictures of my apartment, for posterity (posted in my gallery, last category, 'my apartment' ) - never thought I'd lose it so soon; thought I'd get to move out eventually on my own terms... Oh well. I'm just glad I hadn't bought a house, had new car, credit cards, etc. - & that I wasn't too attached to my stuff! Hooray for detachment! Thank you to both my Native American roots & being a Baha'i for that.
